Experience Havana Along the Illinois River Road

Havana Gateway Resources
The City of Havana is a friendly, welcoming community where a smile and a wave come naturally. Our historic brick streets, lined with vintage-style lighting in our downtown, reflect the passion we have for our 150-year history which includes stories about and visits by Abraham Lincoln and Al Capone. At the foot of Main Street is the Illinois River and Riverfront Park where you can amble the sidewalk pathways, and enjoy scenic overlooks which provide a panoramic view of the river traffic, from pleasure craft to towboats and barges.

Outdoor recreation opportunities are abundant, and include canoeing, bird watching, hiking and biking. Hunting and fishing are also popular activities. We host an assortment of festivals and events throughout the year, including an annual Oktoberfest the first weekend after Labor Day and a Catfish Festival the last weekend in June. Lodging accommodations include two motels and several bed and breakfasts...Some right on the water! For recreation of another sort, enjoy our quaint shops where our business owners take particular pride in customer service.

We look forward to having you come visit!
