Free hike and bike at Chautauqua National Wildlife Refuge
October 13 @ 9:00 am - 3:00 pm CDTFree
Bring your boots, bike and binoculars for a hike and bike on Saturday, October 13 in celebration of
National Wildlife Refuge Week. Fall migration is the best time to see thousands of birds! You can hike
one of our many brand new trails or ride your bicycle around the levee for an up-close look at the
thousands of ducks and geese migrating through the refuge.
This will be the last weekend of public access on the refuge levees before Chautauqua National
Wildlife Refuge goes under sanctuary on October 15th, so don’t miss your chance to view the
spectacular waterfowl migration! The refuge trails, including Eagle Bluffs access, will remain open
throughout the year.
There will be an open house at the refuge headquarters, where we can provide you with information,
maps, binoculars and posters. Registration is not required for this event.
